South western circuit Highlights. Nairobi – Lake Elementaita & Masai Mara.

This wonderful low-cost 7 day safari is perfect for those wanting to experience the fantastic wildlife of Kenya within two varied locations in the south western Kenya circuit – the great rift valley lake land region as well as the Masai Mara, renowned for stunning scenery, avi fauna and a profusion of animals. Travel is by private minibus (except airport transfers).

First spend two nights in Nairobi with time to visit the famous Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and Giraffe Center. Then travel to Lake Elementeita for 2 nights, see Lake Nakuru and continue to the Masai Mara for 2 nights. There is the option to add a beach extension on the Kenya Coast.

7 Day exploration of the south western circuit highlights.

Day 1 JKIA – Southern sun Mayfair.


Pick up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to the Southern Sun Mayfair Hotel for 2 nights (Bed & Breakfast basis).

Day 2 – Full Day explore Nairobi City.

Breakfast at hotel. Full Day hire of private minivan to see the highlights of Nairobi including a visit to the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and the Giraffe Center. Vehicle and driver at your disposal for the afternoon, perhaps head to a restaurant for lunch (not included) or go souvenir shopping. Overnight Southern Sun Mayfair Hotel.

You can have the chance to make your trip even more memorable, adopt and foster an elephant at David Sheldrick wildlife trust.

Day 3 Nairobi – Lake Elementaita.

Champagne breakfast by the shores of Lake Elemetaita

After breakfast, pick up from the hotel and take a drive through the Great Rift Valley to a Lodge on the shores of Lake Elementaita. Afternoon walk along the lake shore. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.

Day 4: Explore Lake Nakuru National Park.


Spend a full day in Lake Nakuru Park, Home of endangered rhinos & more.

Lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. Return to Lake elementaita, in the late afternoon / early evening. Dinner and overnight at lake side Lodge.

Day 5 – Lake Elementaita  to  Masai Mara.

The hunt – Masai Mara

After breakfast drive to the Mara, arriving at Keekorok Lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Keekorok Lodge.

Day 6 Full Day exploring the Mara.    *Optional Balloon Safari and Champagne Breakfast.


Early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Afternoon in camp, followed by another game drive, returning to camp in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Keekorok Lodge.

Day 7 Masai Mara – Nairobi

Early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Transfer back to Nairobi and drop off at the international airport for your flight home. Alternatively, fly direct from the Masai Mara to the Kenya coast to relax on the beach for a few days before flying back to Nairobi (optional and at a supplement).

Itinerary: Pick up from Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to Southern Sun Mayfair Hotel for 2 nights (Bed & Breakfast basis). Day 2 Full Day hire of a private minivan in Nairobi for excursions to David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and the Giraffe Centre. Day 3 pick up after breakfast by safari minivan with expert driver-guide and drive to Sunbird Lodge to arrive for lunch. Afternoon is at leisure. Day 4  Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park for full day game drive with lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge returning later for dinner and overnight at Sunbird Lodge. Day 5 After breakfast proceed to the Masai Mara Game Reserve to arrive at Keekorok Lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive returning for dinner and overnight. Day 6 Morning and afternoon game drives in Masai Mara Game Reserve with all meals and overnight at Keekorok Lodge. Day 7 After breakfast check out and drive back to Nairobi. Drop off at the airport, or at a hotel (hotel not included but can be added at a supplement).

Prices are subject to currency fluctuations and may change.

Upgrade to a 4×4 Vehicle: take a 4×4 safari vehicle (instead of a safari minivan) for 5 days (Days 3 to 7) at a supplement of $180 per vehicle per day ($900 for 5 days).

Extra Night Rate: extra nights can be added at any location – please contact us and we can tailor a tour to suit you.

Child policy:

  • Infants up to 2 years stay free of charge (but do not count towards Group Size)
  • One child aged 3 – 11 years and sharing with 2 adults pays child price shown (but do not count towards Group Size)
  • Reductions are also available where 2 children share a room – please contact us for a quotation

Festive Supplements:

Keekorok Lodge – Dec 24th, 25th, 26th, 31st and Jan 01st is $56 per person per night

Easter Supplements:

Sunbird Lodge – April 14th, 15th and 16th is $70 per person sharing and $29 single room supplement (per night)

Keekorok Lodge – April 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th is $50 per person per night

Prices Include: all transfers and accommodation as stated, Full Board (breakfast, lunch and dinner), all park fees and shared game drives.

EXCLUDED: International flights, travel insurance, visas, porter/guide tips, beverages and items of a personal nature, Balloon Safari $470 per person.
